Starting in 2012 off College Way, the cafe moved to the heart of Mount Vernon in 2017 and is located behind the largest mural in Skagit County at 416 S. 1st St. The O’Leary family purchased the cafe in June 2018 to preserve for the Skagit valley community & visitors. We truly believe Ristretto is a destination to enjoy local art and artist guided workshops, sustainable sourced Victrola coffee & Miro tea, sweet & savory local baked goods for breakfast, lunch or dinner, and musicians and poets from Skagit Valley & beyond as they make their way in the world today.

Ristretto encourages all to visit our European style cafe and take away an experience worth embracing and sharing with friends & family as the example we expect to see in the world.

Lovely location with great coffee and sandwiches. Hand-grilled paninies were delicious. My friend is gluton-free and she had a fabulous pastry with a great cup of tea. The wine selection was all local varieties … will need to visit in the evening.

Lots of great coffee and tea options with pastries too! Tables and couches and counters available to sit and read it chat or play games or work. Friendly, welcoming staff complete the delightful picture. – highly recommended!

Exceptional Coffee in Charming Setting

This place was a welcome refuge from the hustle and bustle of normal daily life. All employees are very pleasant, and I appreciate the Owners creativity and menu options. There is paintings for sale on the walls, and free books to borrow on the shelves. The pastries are delivered daily and are delectable. Try the Northwest Mocha, it is outstanding.

I stumbled across this cafe and wine bar while walking around old town Mt Vernon and decided to try it. I’m so glad I did. I have just recently moved into the Mt Vernon area and have been scouring the place for a good coffee shop. I am really particular when it comes to my cappuccinos and I had yet to find a place that I really liked – and I’ve tried a lot of different places. Well, I now have a new favorite place to go for coffee. This was the best cappuccino I’ve had outside of Italy. It was absolutely delicious. This is also a wine bar and I hope to to back and try some of their wines as well.
